Family Entertainment for All Occasions

Mary Ellen does puppet shows using the stage as her puppet theatre.  She uses animal puppets with a variety of themes such as "Old MacDonald" and his farm animals, or Animals of Florida,  Zoo animals, Birds Around the World.  There is a puppet show about insects, "Don't Bug Me". "The Billy Goats Gruff" is done with Balloon Theatre and puppets, as well as "Rainbow Fish Adventures",  and "The Lion and the Mouse". Body puppets are featured in "How the Lion Got His Mane". The stories are performed with puppets as members of the audience actually act out the stories.  Mary Ellen joins them and narrates. That is the unique feature.

Mary Ellen has a program called "Puppets 101' in which she introduces children to hand, rod, glove, string (marionettes), finger, and mouth puppets. This is a hands on program.

Mary Ellen makes puppets and leads puppet workshops such as moving mouth puppets, rod puppets and glove puppets.  Sometimes, she uses giant puppets in shows or parades.

At the beginning of most birthday parties Mary Ellen introduces a five foot puppet that is a cousin to Big Bird.  She is the president of the Detroit Puppeteers Guild. If you would like more information about that organization go to: http://www.detroitpuppeteersguild.org
